The Horizon 27 was a development of the popular Horizon 26 and incorporated a sloped stern and integral rudder shaft rather than a transom mounted rudder. The spacious layout below remained unchanged giving six berths in two cabins, a dedicated chart table, a separate spacious heads and an L-shaped galley.
The Saloon is open plan with adequate space around the folding fixed table for six adults. Two full length berths run along each side with lockers below and behind the backrests. The forward backrest hinges up to extend the forward V berth to a maximum length of 1.83m(6ft). With a width of just 170mm (7inches) at forward end, this berth is narrow for two adults but perfect for two children or one adult.
The aft facing chart table is large enough for an unfolded admiralty folio chart, has a hinged lid with adequate space beneath for charts and booklets etc. The instrument panel has the original Hunter Switch Panel, Voltmeter, 12volt socket, 240volt socket and Standard Horizon Explorer GX1700E 25 Watt Class D DSC VHF (new 2016) with integral GPS. The bulkhead has plenty of space for additional instruments. A handheld ICOM 31 VHF with 240volt and 12volt chargers and Garman handheld GPS 12XL is included together with Motoring Cone & Anchor Ball, Radar Reflector and SOS Grab Bag.
The L shaped galley is located to starboard and has a pedestal housing a coolbox and sink with tap, a gimballed Plastimo Atlantic cooker with oven, double hob and grill with lockers behind and below. The galley is equipped with a full set of original Hunter crockery and cutlery for six with two saucepans, frying pan and cooking utensils An additional portable coolbox is stored under the chart table.
Astern of the galley is a genuine double aft cabin with door and lockers and underberth storage.
On the port side, the heads compartment has a Jabsco sea water toilet, washbasin with tap and locker under, mirror and hanging locker. The Jabso toilet pump was renewed in 2015 and the heads refurbished in 2019.
A Shore Supply plug with two 240volt sockets was added in 2018. One socket is above the chart table and the other is behind the companion way steps to supply a battery charger (not included). Two 12volt batteries with switching are included. The Engine battery was new in 2015.
The Saloon windows and the forward hatch were replaced in 2015 and the Saloon side linings in 2017. The gas system was refurbished in 2015 with completely new pipework and a new Regulator.
The bow and masthead tricolour and anchor navigation lights were renewed in 2015 and 2016 respectively. A stern light was added in 2017. Currently the masthead all-round anchor light is not working and has been disconnected.
The fractional rigged mast is stepped on a tabernacle to allow easy lowering with halyards and reefing lines led back to the cockpit winches via jammers. All standing rigging was replaced in 2016. A stern ladder was added in 2015 and the keels ground back, coated with rust inhibitor and 5 coats of gel shield in 2016. A new ST60 Log/Depth Instrument and new wooden Tiller were added in 2016. The Sprayhood frame was replaced in 2016.
The main propulsion outboard is located in the port cockpit locker and was replaced in 2015 with a 10HP, electric start Honda BF10 SRU with remote control. This has been serviced annually by the local Honda agent and is still under its 6 year warranty.
Sails include a furling Crusader Genoa, Hyde Mailsail with two slab reefs and lasyjacks with halyards and reefing lines led back to the cockpit winches via jammers. A Spinnaker with sheets, blocks, spinnaker pole, uphaul and downhaul is included. A spare Genoa and Mainsail and a 2 man Compass S-100 inflatable dinghy is also included.
In addition, a privately owned half-tide mooring in Bosham, a 4 man WETLINE 260ECO inflatable dinghy with Yamaha F2.5AMH outboard is also available for sale separately.
