Hunter Horizon 23 1991 for sale
Advert added to marketplace: 25th August 2018
This is our yacht “Spellbound” a 23 ft Hunter Horizon. She is a great starter boat / pocket cruiser and would ideally suit someone starting sailing or who wishes to be able to single / short hand sail with ease. I’ve owned her a year and am only parting as we’ve loved the experience so much we’re moving on to bigger things.
With twin keels she can take the ground and this also takes a lot of the stress out of shallow water / harbour sailing. The self taking jib and cockpit control lines means that everything can be done with ease from the cockpit by one person. I’ve sailed her single handed for the entire season, whilst the rest of the family relaxed in the sunshine!
Spellbound has been a much loved boat and has a full history of owners and work done on her since she was first launched in 1991.
She has the following kit, much of which was installed this season
Slab reefed main – both sails
laundered and inspected annually. Very easy to reef single handed without going to the mast
Roller furler self tacking jib – UV strip replaced recently
Running rigging checked and new main halyard 2018
New stack pack this season 2018
New Mariner 6hp outboard (2018) in cockpit well. < 30 hours on this engine in total
New morse gear and throttle control lever 2018
CQR anchor with 5m chain and 30 m warp in external locker
New B&G Vulcan 7 inch chart plotter (2018) above fold down chart table .
New (2018) Clipper Duet log and depth sounder
New (2018) Platismo compass
Origo 2 burner spirit stove in very good condition. This removes the need for pressurised gas and is a real bonus.
Jabsco sea heads in separate compartment with wash basin
New (2018) Platismo 40 L flexible water tank with whale pump tap to galley sink
Electrical system re-wired 2018 with new switchboard and new battery installed
Accommodation is an amazingly spacious (for 23 ft vessel) aft double berth and 2 berths in the saloon. We found a family of 4 could comfortable weekend cruise in her.
We will be very sorry to say goodbye to Spellbound as we’ve had great time sailing her but it’s time for her to have a new skipper and crew.
Available to view now. Currently in Chichester harbour on a swinging mooring but coming ashore to a boatyard in Emsworth in the next 2 weeks (early September)
