White Lady History
Our Hunter 30 was purchased in 1994 as the sailaway version and carefully completed by myself for launching in 1995. We chose the 2GM engine, upgraded upholstery and professional (Hunter) chart and saloon tables. The yacht is equipped for comfortable cruising with many extras including Eberspacher diesel heater, calorifier, Isotherm compressor-type fridge and Autohelm 2000. There are the additional creature comforts of C J Marine hood, bathing ladder, dodgers, awning and mains sockets.
We have sailed as a husband and wife team and were initially based at Maryport on the Solway Firth and sailed the west coast of Scotland, Isle of Man and Ireland. We then sailed leisurely down the west coast of UK over four years to Mylor (Falmouth) from where we crossed to Morlaix on the north coast of France. For several years we have enjoyed cruising southern Brittany and the west coast down to La Rochelle from our pontoon berth on the beautiful Vilaine river. She is now back in the UK and based at Milford Haven in Wales. We have found the yacht to be ideal for our cruising needs and agree with the comment in a leading magazine that the Hunter 30 is “Fast but not furious”.
White Lady is currently winterised and on the hard standing at the marina.
